Snapple
What Is Snapple®?
Snapple® is a brand of all-natural beverages made with fruit juice or tea. The original brand founders started their business with a single carbonated flavor, apple. Today, there are more than 30 Snapple® flavor options available in bottles and cans. Snapple® flavored powder drink mixes are made by Juicy Mixes LLC, a company that has a licensing agreement with the Snapple® Beverage Corporation.
How Much Caffeine Is In Snapple®?
Snapple® juice drinks and lemonade do not have caffeine. The amount of caffeine in any flavor of Snapple® tea depends on the type of tea used. On average, Snapple® tea has about 18 mg of caffeine in an 8 oz serving, much less than coffee or cola. The company does not currently make flavor options with decaffeinated tea.
Do Snapple® Products Expire?
Decisions to print expiration dates on most shelf-stable products are generally left to manufacturer discretion. Many companies prefer a "best if used by" approach rather than a set expiration. While you're unlikely to find expiration dates on Snapple® labels, you will find a code. The codes tell workers stocking store shelves when products are no longer eligible for sale. Snapple® beverages are generally coded for removal 6 or 12 months after their production. The shelf life of individual products depends on the list of ingredients.
Is Snapple® Vegan?
Veganism requires a plant-based diet. Snapple® Tea is generally considered vegan-friendly. So are most Snapple® juice-blends and the artificial sweetener (aspartame) used in Diet Snapple®. However, 3 flavors of Snapple® Lemonade, Black Cherry, Strawberry Pineapple and Watermelon, are made with clarified juices. Not all clarified juices are non-vegan, but some vegans choose to avoid them.
Can I Recycle Snapple® Bottles?
Yes, you can recycle Snapple® bottles. You can also keep the newly designed cap on the bottle when you recycle. Not only can they be recycled, Snapple® bottles are also made with 100% recycled plastic. Plus, Snapple® labels are printed with washable ink. The company's decision to switch from glass to recycled plastic bottles reduced the amount of packaging needed for Snapple® products by 80%.
