Preservision

Preservision is used to help reduce the risk of progression in people who have moderate to advance age-related macular degeneration, a condition that causes eyesight to deteriorate. A specific combination of vitamins and minerals work to help preserve eyesight and slow down the progression of the disease.

Preservision Areds 2 is a supplement used to help with age-related eye disease. This product was developed based on a study conducted in 2013 across 82 clinical centers in the United States. The study found that 18-percent of people who took Preservision Areds 2 had a reduced risk of progressing to advanced age-related macular degeneration compared to those who were taking the original Areds formula.

Preservision Areds 2 has a high level of specific ingredients tested and verified to help slow down the progression of AMD. The product comes in the form of chewable tablets, soft gels, supplements with additional multivitamins, tablets, and mini gels.

Preservision contains lutein, an antioxidant that occurs naturally in the macula, located at the center of the retina. Lutein can help combat the effects of wear and tear on the eyes while filtering blue and UV rays. The product also contains 80 mg of zinc, a mineral that has been shown to help reduce the risk of AMD progression to a more advanced stage. It also contains vitamin C, vitamin E, copper, and zeaxanthin, an antioxidant pigment that protects the retina from damaging UV and blue rays.
