Monistat Side Effects
Some side effects of Monistat include headache, lower abdominal cramps, or a slight burning, itching, or pain around the vaginal or urethral area. If these side effects get worse or they persist, stop using Monistat and contact your doctor or pharmacist right away.
What Is Monistat?
Monistat contains miconazole, an ingredient that reduces the symptoms of yeast infections like vaginal itching, burning, and discharge. Monistat is an antifungal and should only be used as directed. If your symptoms don't improve, talk to your doctor a soon as possible since it may be a sign of a more serious infection. Monistat comes in one, three, and seven-day treatments depending on your specific needs.
How To Use Monistat
Read the patient information and packaging to find out how to use Monistat. This product is intended for vaginal use only. Always wash your hands before and after using Monistat and use it once daily at bedtime for one to seven nights depending on the product treatment schedule you've chosen. The Monistat single dose tablet may be taken during the day or at bedtime.
