Before your flowers ship, they are prepared for their journey with proper hydration methods. If your flowers appear sleepy and thirsty after their journey, it is absolutely normal. Just follow these simple steps for proper rehydration:  
Upon arrival, remove flowers from the box by cutting any straps located on the outside and inside of the box
Remove flowers from the box by cutting any straps and also remove all paper and plastic packaging in order to prevent rotting
Roses - Do not remove the corrugated cardboard sleeve or the rubber bands holding the flowers together in a bunch during the initial hydration process
Fill your vase with fresh, cool water
Add floral food if provided to prevent bacteria from forming in the water and to give added nutrients to the flowers. If you do not have flower food, it can be purchased at any local florist
Remove leaves that fall below the waterline. If they are left on they will decompose causing bacteria to form and shorten the flower's life
Using a sharp knife or scissors, make a 45 degree angle cut least 1 inch off the end of the stems to allow for the flowers to start hydrating
Place the flowers in the prepared container
Allow your flowers to properly hydrate for at least 1-2 hours
Arrange flowers as desired
Change water and re-cut stems every 3 days to increase vase life
Do not place flowers in direct sunlight or near fruits and vegetables as it will dramatically shorten the flower's lifespan
