Directions

1.Prepare and add ingredients into the pressure cooker pot. 2. Place lid on top of the pot, the lid handle should be further to the right than one of the cooker support handles. Slight press down on the lid and turn the lid handle in clockwise motion until a “click" sound is heard. 3. Place the pressure regulator on the vent pipe. The pressure regulator will fit loosely on the vent pipe. It should not touch the top of the pressure cooker cover. 4. Position the pressure cooker on your stove. If your stove is electric coil or smooth top, use the element that most closely matches the diameter of the cooker bottom. 5. Using a high heat setting on your stove, begin heating the pressure cooker. 6. The lid lock may move up and down a few times when cooking first begins as it automatically exhausts air from the pressure cooker. Steam will be noticeable. This is normal. When pressure begins to build, the locking pin slides up, locking the cover. Once the cooker has sealed, the cover lock will remain in its raised position until pressure is released. 7. Once the pressure regulator begins to rock, cooking time begins. Gradually lower the heat as necessary to maintain a slow, steady rocking motion and cook for the length of time indicated in the recipe or timetable of the food being prepared. The rocking motion will be accompanied by a hissing noise. 8. During the first several minutes after adjusting the heat, be aware and remain by the pressure cooker to make sure the heat setting is adequate to keep the pressure regulator rocking at a slow, steady rate. 9. When cooking time is complete, turn off the burner WARNING: USE EXTREME CAUTION WHEN HANDLING, AS THE COOKER AND CONTENT ARE EXTREMELY HOT! 10. Reduce pressure according to the recipe or timetable instructions.
