Vial contacts, also known as conventional contact lenses, are individually packaged and sold in vials, which is how they got their name.
Vial contacts are a long-term use lens that should not be confused with disposable soft contact lenses. Disposable soft contact lenses are thrown away after a day, week or month of use. With vial contacts, you can wear them for several months and even up to a year before needing replacements, as long as you properly care for and clean them.
Vial contacts are available as soft or rigid lenses and cover your eye the same way as any other contact lens, but they allow more oxygen to reach your eye since they are gas permeable.
Vial contacts offer a few benefits over disposable soft lens types. First, they are generally better made, consisting of superior materials that won't rip or tear as easily. In addition, vial contacts have better optics and offer better correction for complex eye conditions such as astigmatism.
The longevity of vial contact lenses, between three months and a year, distinguishes them from other types of contacts. You can enjoy long-lasting contacts without the hassle and cost of daily, weekly or monthly disposables thanks to their superior quality and gas permeability. Vial contacts are a great option for those suffering from myopia, hyperopia and astigmatism. You should always consult with your eye doctor on the best contact lenses for your eyes.
